Unfortunately its not just the mass media controlling, but the media itself is controlled. But remember, the media, etc. can only control us as much as we let it. Start thinking for yourself, don't let someone else (media, government, etc.) do your thinking for you.

The media and the movie makers take no responsibility for the garbage they produce, claiming it doesn't influence kids, teens, or young adults toward bad behavior or illicit conduct. Yet, they tout their productions to advertisers and claim that the garbage they produce will help sell product!
Then, too, the media is manipulated by advertisers, and even by the government. The "fourth estate" doesn't exist anymore as a watchdog to our society. The blatantly conservative-biased media simply "reads" the pre-packaged press releases provided by the government without question, investigation or skepticism. Because TV stations and newspapers are run by bean counters today, instead of journalists, "news" is seen as less profitable, and "cost efficiencies" are implemented to keep expenses down. That means no in-depth investigative reports, no challenging the government's propaganda, and no protection for American taxpayers or consumers.
The Republican Party's propagandists (Ann Coulture, Shawn Hannity and Rush Limbaugh) fill the airwaves with hatred and bigotry, passing it off as "political commentary" (when in fact it's pure propaganda undeniably similar to that which the Nazi regime employed 65 years ago). Gullible "diito heads" who can't think for themselves buy into this hate and it spreads like the black plague across the country without anyone disputing it, opposing it, or questioning the value, truth, integrity, honesty, and accuracy of the "news" that gets reported.
Not since the days of the Washington Times' Watergate investigation has there been a credible news source that really "digs" out a story and uncovers all the facts. -RKO-

i totally agree with you. they influence teenagers, adults and now little kids. they have low rise bikini underwear for little kids, why would little kids need that? my 6 year old little sister now wants to be "sexy" so yes, i think that the media manipulates and influences everyone.
