Well as long as there is fighting of course, but this all goes back to the religion. There have been religious wars and fighting in these 3rd world countries since bible time. it's never gonna end there will always be war and fighting somewhere in the world. as a personal answer to how long troops will be there....until Bush is out of office. he had no sense in sending those troops. we just cause more chaos by doing so. leave them alone. we have Sadaam, and we blasted Bin Laden out of the water or so it's been said. let them fight there own battle. we always think we can help but we end up killing more and more. let's just hope they all come back safe!

Yeah unfortunatley it looks like we are there for the long haul till our leaders ascertain that attempting to combat terrorism in a politically marvelous fasion isn't working. i do no longer understand what you call a number of our leaders in congress who've pronounced the latest tactic of troop will develop failed earlier it develop into even tried. They scream while we are saying they are being unpatriotic, and merely enjoying politics on the cost of troop ethical. despite you call this habit that's rather not patriotic. on the different hand I choose Bush could say what our objective is strictly. whether that's to end crime and homicide then we can be there continually. we will not even end those issues in our very own u . s . a .. i assume we live till Iraq is waiting to take care of itself. yet to ensure that that to take place they're going to could desire to end killing one yet another. I haven't any solutions purely ingredient i will do is desire our government does not devide our u . s . a . even extra by enjoying politics with this warfare and proceed to desire for our brave adult males in females who're in harms way.

forever....people bring up Korea...well the difference in Korea is...the war is NOT over there. North and South are still at war with each other. That's why the troops are over there. You don't hear stories of people dying everyday or insurgent attacks, but shots are bring fired everyday.

At least until the next presidential election. Bush has said that his successor would be the one dealing with it.
Unfortunately, most pundits (from both sides) that I've heard talking about this are saying 5-7 years.

We still have troops in Germany and Japan, and that war ended in 1945.
2003 + 61 = 2064.
But that's just a guess.
