High Fashion Model Salary

Honestly, around $1000. TO really earn a living, you have to be quite sucessful and really fit the niche. The models like Giselle, Heidi, and such are not typical by any means. For each one of them, there are a thousand part time and struggling models out there.

If you are tall, thin, and gorgeous, then you may be able to work somewhat frequently and make $100K a year. It just really really depends.

If you are interested in becoming a model, you need to be evaluated by a legitimate agency. Remember, an average high fashion model is at least 5'8", under 120 pounds at that height (add maybe 2 pounds an inch), and photographs amazingly. If you aren't so photogenic and are taller (like 5'10"), then you may have luck strictly with runway work. Remember, you aren't going to be the first high fashion model who is 5'5" or who is 5'9" and 175lbs. Visit a few of the websites like Ford, Elite, LA Models, IMG, etc and look at the measurements of the girls. It may help you figure out if you fit that niche. : )

RE:
What is the average salary for a fashion model?

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career.
