Though I think your question is phrased very badly and has racist undertones, I will agree that ethnic groups do use the 'race card' in debates to distract from the issue at hand. Segregation is still at work all over the world, from the subtle to blatant, while preserving cultural difference is important, racism and ignorance is never justified.

I'm not black, but I am an American. I do not think welcoming a black state within America would solve anything. First, segregation caused many, many problems in our country's history. Second, creating a new state would cause numerous difficulties. How would we divide up the land? Each state has a separate government. What about the 50 stars on the American flag? There are various other problems. More and more people are of mixed ethnicity--what about them? Also, segregation has not been sampled to my knowledge. I believe some ethical issues would prevent that research from taking place.

You are right. Most blacks always want to keep there 'culture' and separate themselves almost as much as the whites do. I date outside of my race but most people don't. I relate to myself as a person rather than a race. However, most people find themselves in an identity conflict if they don't. It isn't easy to do what I do because I am racially ambigious; a darked skinned person will not be accepted by the white race. It is just a fact of life and it sucks.
However, I am sick of the slang talk, the ignorance, the hippity hop and all of that crap that is part of the black culture. Race and culture are to different things. Culture is a choice and is made by the individual. Race is placed on people without consent by our society; but it can be refused. However, it exist and slavery is long gone, but racism and discrimination isn't. It takes decades to recover from such conditions, a full generation hasn't even died out ever since segregation. The old seniors are the ones that make up the Power Elite, and do you think the burocracy system will change so quickly with them still in power? Be realistic. But there is more that blacks can do to change things faster. First off stop being ghetto. You think a profession will hire you if you speak ebonics? Leave the attitude with those who hurt you, not the whole world. Stop behaving in a way that justifies the prejudice and stereotypes. The ones that do it know who they are.

Mainly because our American Government has never brought closure to this issue. They have never apologized and faced up to their wrong doing as having committed crimes against humanity. And therefore America should be dogged until you do!!!!
No other group on the planet would accept anything less than an apology and the showing of remorse. When you do that then I am being treated equally with you. Anything less is an insult!
Did the Jews give up and accept their degradation after being treated so despicably by the Germans no -they wont let you forget even now, they make you remember the Holocaust.
Even the Pope went to a Black nation and apologized for the participation of the catholic church in the slave trade.
Common america - you benefited the most -from that free labor and worst of all dehumanized human beings -and you cant apologize? So dont tell me about "using a stick" - you're lucky that we dont use our foot (in your ungrateful as s)!
we should just overlook all that because we are not worthy of being treated as equals - you disgust me!

It's pretty obvious that you have never had these sort of issues about yourself. How lucky, if that's what you call it, are you to not have been racially discriminated against.
Why wouldn't they remember the atrocities that was inflicted on their race no matter how long ago. They have to keep the whites in line and remind them to never go back to those days.
Why would you want to have a race of whites that are so selfish and self gratifying as to think they can dictate who and when and where people can live on our earth.
Shame on you.
By the way.....my skin colour is white and in the summer I try so very hard to be as brown as I can, don't you???

You asked 'have you ever sampled segregation?' Implying that you can't knock it till you try it. Have you? Have you ever sampled slavery? Just because the current generation was not physically enslaved or was a victim of segregation doesn't mean that their ancestors have not told of the horrible beatings, lynchings, 'cattle brandings', rapes, and other atrocities that took place. So yes, when my grandmother tells me about the time she was picked up by her throat by a white man because she couldn't read the sign that said 'white only water fountain',(she was five) I have sampled segregation!!!!!!!

actually there was a black state for freed slaves set up in the 1800's. it was called Liberia...after the liberty they were given...look at what they did with it
The religious practices, social customs and cultural standards of the Americo-Liberians had their roots in the antebellum American South. These ideals strongly influenced the attitudes of the settlers toward the indigenous African people. The new nation, as they perceived it, was coextensive with the settler community and with those Africans who were assimilated into it. Because of mutual mistrust and hostility between the "Americans" along the coast and the "Natives" of the interior, a recurrent theme in the country's subsequent history, therefore, was the usually successful attempt of the Americo-Liberian minority to dominate people whom they considered uncivilized and inferior.

Interesting question, as if you think about it globally, many indigenous people choose to segregate themselves in communities and culture - They create their own television and radio networks for example.
I personally feel that the minute we start to segregate ourselves into little groups and clusters, we lose the whole of humanity.

I don't like victimization and playing the race card, but no black American wants to go back to segregation unless they are a follower of black islam or malcolm x
