And what, in your opinion, will it take to do it?

Does anyone think we could stabilize the situation by substantially increasing the number of troops? Should we have had more troops to begin with? Opinions?

It must be won! If we lose, the whole world is in trouble from Muslims.
Even the Democrats who are screaming "cut and run" are funding the war. They scream out "surrender" to the left wing, but in private, they are supporting Bush.
Democrats are just playing politics with the future of mankind. That's how bad they want back in power. Good Question. Thanks.

No and here is why:
The reason the US went to war in Iraq was not because of supposed weapons of mass destruction; that was but a political excuse. The real reason was to remove Saddam Hussein as a potential threat to Israel.
The USA Middle East policy the only policy that is not American at all.
Why there is not any organized fighting against the British in the south? Because UK has a sound Middle East policy they are for regime change in Iraq and fair and just solution for the Palestinian Problem.
Why the US policy went wrong in Iraq? When most of the Iraqis were happy to get rid of Sudan
And met the American Army with candies and flowers
. The Israelis and the Israeli lobby have a different policy than that of the Bush Administration and they were able to start that policy through some of their men in the Administration. The end game for the Israelis is to keep the American ARMY in Iraq for a long time to come. The Israeli government prayed for the attack on Iraq, which has eliminated the strategic threat posed by Iraq. America was pushed into the war by a group of Neo-Conservatives, almost all of them Jews, who had a huge influence on the White House. In the past, some of them had acted as advisers to Binyamin Netanyahuwww.nowarforisrael.com/
When the USA reform the lobby system you may win the war which is going to last for years to come and remember Israeli lobby want to attack Iran next

Won or lost, it's really up to the Iraqi people.

The point of invading Iraq was never to "win" anything other than to remove Saddam from power and to establish military bases right in between Iran and Syria and overlooking the Persian Gulf.

And to that end we have been greatly successful.

You see, the generals had the past experience and the foresight to decide that Iraq was worth having at nearly any cost. A good stratgic position is always worth a heavy price.

Now, if we withdraw soon, we certainly lose. Not only will the newly-freed Iraqi people be at the mercy of the Islamofacist, but we will have proven to the Jihadis that we don't have the patience or the will or the strength of character to defeat them. We will also have lost the most valuable military positions we have ever held.

No it can't be "won". We never should have invaded Iraq, Afghanistan was where we should have focused our efforts. Now we're mired down in a civil war, and it IS a civil war. The Iraqi people don't want us there and our continued presence will only cause more hatred and deaths on all sides. That's my opinion.

The war in Iraq has already been won!! I fail to see any end in sight of the civil unrest there at all! Perhaps we should bring the troops out and let them all fight for control and power!!!!!

No - no empire or other nation has successfully fought an insurgency without resorting to genocide. So unless Bush plans on Islamo-genocide then it will remain a quagmire where our troops go to die.

We should just take over and make it a colony so we don't have to pay these ridiculous prices for gas...do you know how much a gallon costs in Saudi Arabia? 79 cents....79 cents!!! and why do you think our gas prices are so high? Because of Saudi Arabia! Those bastards joined OPEC even though they promised us that they wouldn't if we helped in desert storm. That was one of the main points of going into war with Iraq in the first place with the first Bush...we should just bomb them as well and take over.
and who cares if they are having a civil war....some good things DO come out from civil wars...if you don't think so...look at this country...the US, a great nation that came out from civil wars...two civil wars actually. Once from going against England and again to unify the country....good things do come out of it.
