hey Chris, i worked in advertising sales for years and the best lead is gained through constant knocking on doors, (phone calls dont cut it cause its so easy to say no to a person on the phone) look for big clients first as they always make great refferals, which it turns has clients coming to you and makes your work load ALOT easier....also dont be an IN YOUR FACE sales person, people like to talk about themselves, so ask more than you tell to build confidence in the person and show your point of difference from the 500 sales people that have already knocked at their door that day.....also take nothing personally! a NO today is just that, and could quite possibly be a yes next week or next month or next year so be persistant and keep going back, most sales and long term clients are made after youve made a relationship.

That depends on what you are selling. Nothing beats good old fashioned work. Knocking on doors, attending business mixers, meeting people in every way you can.
