However, it is only updated up to 1997, so if you are looking for a more recent death..I don't know.
FYI: you can also order a copy of the death certificate from this website if needed.

go to rootsweb.com click on Social Security Death Index. They will only give you date of birth and death and also state they last lived in. That's all I know

Look under the archives of the county were they died or were buried. That may help. Good Luck.
