I'm going there in about an hour with some friends and I have never been there, will i be dissappointed?

Hermosa Beach, in L.A. County, is rated as one of the top 10 cleanest beaches in California. It has a nice downtown area with shops and entertainment. Also, its a relatively short walk from the Redondo Beach pier, if you like to take walks on the beach and wind up at a pretty interesting place.
The bars there are where the Beach Boys and some other California bands made their first appearances over the decades.
I dig it. I'm sure you'll be ok with it.

Black's beach is WAY better.
