You are a teenager.Embrace being a teenager as once its gone,it doesnt come back.You only get one chance in a lifetime to be a teenager.Many teens want to grow up so fast and they do adult things.They then get themselves into adult situations that they are not prepared or ready for but yet they have to grow up and be responsible for many things.Just embrace each of your teen years and enjoy them.You will look back and see you got the most out of them instead of letting them slip away by trying to grow up to fast.Good luck,and Happy Early Birthday.

*chuckles* The special thing about being 13 is:
1)Your parents now realize they're getting older and the "little baby" is now becoming a bratty teenager
2)Your parents realize that their "little girl" is now becoming a "little lady" they're worried about you- because they know the pain over the next 6 or so years you're going to be feeling. They DO care, even if it seems like they dont- you need to know and understand this.
3)Your parents now feel their own mortality- that is, they understand deep in their hearts that they're going to die some day. You are currently at the age where life seems to be fun and happy and stuff- I hope you haven't seen a great deal of uglyness or death and stuff.
I'm sorry that most of my answer is from your Parents perspective- I am an old man, and both wisdom and age is on my side.
Be happy, chose the new clothes, look- BUT DON'T TOUCH- the boys,,,be carefull,,,,learn how to be an adult,,,,concentrate on your school work, and figure out what kind of life you want to live,,,,figure out what you want to do for a living,,,,don't have a boyfriend,,,,,don't have a boyfriend,,,,,don't have a boyfriend until you're 26 years old or so, so that your personality is firmly set.
Remember you're almost 14- the boy you love today is probably going to be the young man you hate tomorrow.
And the girl that boy likes now is probably going to be the young woman he dislikes tomorrow- look at it from both perspectives

Well im also 13 I didnt have the best year. But i def. made the best of it. I had every obsticle thrown at me but i made it threw it. I will also be turnin 14 nxt month on the 16th. & well special for me was hanging out with my friends @ this club that we got into because i look 15, Meeting new people because they dont consider you a lil kid anymore, Your a teen now they respect you a lil more, Going to high school (well tomm i start), Being able to join certain things that you couldnt when you were 12... stuff like that ... Also its just a change in your life from kid to teen. Useally around this time you are going to start dating (if your not already) & thats whats so special

I guess it's special because it's your first year of being a teen. My sister will be 13 next month. Personally, I HATED my teen years, but make it good, and don't make too many stupid decisions! :D

Well, i got my period at 13. Plus, youre a TEENAGER! it might not feel like such a big deal, but in a couple of years, you can drink, or drive, or vote, or do ANYTHING! you will be going to college, and maybe even lose your virginity in a couple of years! Enjoy being 13! I did!

For me, it was the ability to watch PG-13 movies without parental watching. When I turned fourteen, I could watch pretty much anything on TV. Celebrate your birthday doing both!

nothing being 13/14/15 suckss!! you cant do anything and everyone views you as a snotty naiive teenager, once you're 16 and 17 it gets soo much beterr = ]
