Traveling at the speed of light is forbidden according to our understanding of physical law.
Our cells do not communicate all that fast - nerve transmission rates are in the range of 10 to 100 meters per second - much, much less than the speed of light, which is 299,792,458 metres per second.

There have been a lot of questions about alternate realities and parallel time lines and even questions about other dimensions, so these questions started to make me think about things that i know about and Lucid Dreaming and Waking Dreams are one of those areas that i know about. All the talk about other dimensions made me think of the Dream scape or the Astral Plane in truth these ideas get a lot of criticism but that is a good thing because even criticism brings the theory into the light, now the question was about the speed of light and how to travel at that's speed some have said that it is physically possible to travel at that speed and i would agree, however what if it wasn't mentally impossible to travel those great distances through Astral Travel. The idea is an offence to the very concept of the law of physics but in my mind i try not to rule out any alternative even the ones that sound absurd and outrageous because if it can not be disproved or proved then it might just have merit.

Our cells communicate on the meters per second level. This is nothing close to the speed of light.
Basically, current theory states that for an object of mass to attain light speed takes an infinite amount of energy; therefore light speed travel is truly impossible. Furthermore, space dust traveling at any significant fraction of the speed of light has enough kinetic energy to blow up a space ship easily.
I haven't experienced "deja vu", but I do on occasion find reality coinciding with my dreams--after the dream. For lack of a better term, I just say it's deja vu when that sort of thing happens. I never find useful information in these dreams, though.
"Why not"... because we find physical limits to what we can do with a given amount of energy, even assuming perfect efficiency. Our feelings don't give off that much energy. If they did, our bodies would need to use nuclear reactions to harness that much energy from our food.

Yes, most physicist had, especially Albert Einstein who said it is physically impossible for a mass to travel at the speed of light. And yet, he proposes that travelling at light speed, the Time will slow down but if you travel faster than the speed of light the effect is reversed, meaning the Time is ticking back. It is like seeing things moving in a reverse order. Now, thats weird science for you.

It's physically impossible to travel that fast. This is because objects become more massive as they move faster and thus require more energy to propel them. As an object approaches the speed of light it becomes infinitely massive and requires infinite energy to move at the speed of light, which is impossible.
Unless, of course you ratchet up to Warp 2, but then you'd be pulled over for defying the laws of the universe.

i thought of this a lot when i was on dope in my younger years. My theory was the use of gravitational pull from planets and stars. If a "spacecraft" could be electrically charged to the opposite polarity of a nearby planet and multiplied the signal the reaction to the planet would naturally pull the craft toward the planet gradually gaining more and more speed as you near the planet. Then by finding another planet nearby and changing the polarity once again you could essentially slingshot or zig-zag through the galaxy until possibly reaching unrecorded speeds. Not necessarily the speed of light but pretty fast. If we did reach speed of light as you know Einstein says it would become time travel.

Your trying to say that we could build a beginning of theory based on the speed of the communication of our cells? Hum...Maybe in another thousand years when we could finally fully control our body and brain, we could travel a the same speed of this, but I don't think it would happen soon.

As you get closer to the speed of light you get heavier and may force is need to push you faster.
But we have devices that can more speed up elections to 99% the speed of light all around the world.

Einstein thought about it, proved it's impossible, and won a Nobel Prize (actually for explaining the photoelectric effect, but who's counting).
