Pregnancy is known to slightly decrease the body's immune system - it helps keep the babies safe from being attacked by the mother's immune system. But it is not that worrisome - just check out the millions of babies being born. The only thing you should worry about is a TORCH disease. Toxoplasma, Rubella, CMV, HSV (herpes simplex virus). And other diseases such as syphillis and hepatitis among others.
Zinc won't hurt. Studies are inconclusive as to whether it helps.
In all cases, it's best to ask your doctor.

I don't think that its easier to catch the flu or colds when your pregnant. Just stay active, eat properly, take your materity vitamins and stay away from sick people. Thats what I do and I am fine so far... KNOCK ON WOOD><
If you do get sick....just rest and drink A LOT of fluids...
About the zinc....ask your doctor.

i grow to be poor while my infants have been little, i might sanitize each and every element daily, theire toys have been bleched a week, you call it. what I acctually did grow to be stay away from them from arising an immune device so while they began college they caught each and everything! the Oldest is 11 and it is the 1st twelve months they didnt pass over lots college via ailment. Therfore my suggesstion to you is positioned the dis infectant away, use antibacterial hand cleansing soap purely after utilising the potty or earlier eating. and permit the youngsters to get slightly grimy, it builds character, finally their immune device will kick in. even have your pediatrician get you a reliable nutrition which will help. i in my opinion use Airborn, and prenatles. and except they are fevered or vomiting they must be ok at day care if no longer the provider assist you to comprehend in simple terms make sur they have a decongestant if rfile says ok that way your sitter wont ought to wipe noses all day long. except they are completly lathrgic your sitter can discover activities to maintain them busy and that they are going to be greater useful off later on.

It's actually harder to get sick when you are pregnant. Your body is producing all kinds of good stuff that prevents it. Take your prenatal vitamins and keep up the zinc if your doctor tells you to (don't want too much of any vitamin - needs to be balanced).

Prenatal vitamins are the healthiest to take. Don't worry about other ones. Just take your prenatals, drink a lot of water, and if necessary, you're able to take some Tylenol for body aches. Don't take anything else unless your doctor says it's ok.

If it happens I would call my Doctor and ask what I can take for it. I wouldn't mess around with anything unless my Doctor says that it is ok
