Charlotte does NOT allow shorts and open-toed shoes in the garage area or on pit road (most tracks don't due to safety concerns/insurance). The October race at LMS is a mix of hot and cold - last year the daytime was in the mid-80's and it dropped to freezing overnight. A mix of clothing is recommended. For Pit Road: I would definitely wear a good pair of walking shoes, some comfortable jeans, probably a T-Shirt or polo with your fav drivers colors and sponsor would be best (almost every one else will be wearing the same). I recommend a ball cap and sunglasses also, as shade is non-existent. Camera and a Sharpie for autographs just in case you see a driver, though they won't be out of their cars too much on pit road - you normally find them out and about in the garage area. Also, I recommend a program, event t-shirt or ball cap for them to sign - I did the ball cap at Martinsville and it made a nice souvenir. At Night During the Race: A sweat shirt and jacket, perhaps a toboggan for for your head during the race - it's gonna get cold and then colder - remember, layers are best. When the cars are running around the track, they cause "the vortex" effect. The air will circulate enough to cause a little bit of a wind chill, so be prepared for the cold. A seat cushion will insulate you from the aluminum seat or concrete. I wouldn't bring a blanket as they aren't really best for sitting on due to spilled drinks, etc. And as always, remember, the more you lug in (you're kind of restricted on what you can bring in), the more you have to lug out of the track when the race is over. I'll see ya there - got luxury box seats (FREE! - ;->) for the Busch race and on the front stretch in the Chrysler Grandstand for the 500!!!

It depends on which track your going to and which race. Obviously if your going to races in the beginning of the season it's going to be hot so I would suggest wearing a pair of khaki shorts, a t-shirt(and if you have a favorite driver wear a t-shirt with the driver on it), and a hat(preferably with your favorite driver's number on it as well).
If your going to a race that is in the fall you might want to bring a light jacket. Also...check the news the morning of the race to see what the weather is going to be like, just in-case it rains or something of that nature happens.
I remember back in March at the first race at Bristol it snowed during the Busch race!!

It really depends on what track you go to. If I was going to a night race in Bristow I would dress a little warmer since it cools down at night. I usually wear shorts and a tee shirt but always take a light jacket or rain gear. My wife wears the same. We go to a lot of races and have always been comfortable.

Whatever's appropriate for the temperature. Just like any other sporting event. Keep in mind that you're going to be outside for 3-4 hours (unless you have a box suite or something, some tracks have them) for the race itself, longer if you go tailgating. If it's a race that starts during the day and ends at night, bring a jacket or something to put on as it cools down.

Ok, it depends. If you have a garage or pit pass you need to be wearing long pants and shoes that cover your feet (no sandals)
If you are just going to the race be comfortable. You can pull off shorts then...and of course the T-shirt and hat of your favorite driver:)
...and why not have a cheesy homemade poster sign to hold up for your favorite driver...no one knows you. It would only be a problem if you end up on TV:)

Wear something with your favorite driver on it. Make sure you dress comfortably...you'll be standing more than sitting. I know for the past 5 years I've been going to Loudon, I find it hard to sit down to enjoy the race. Walking around the track and taking pictures while they are racing is always fun. Wear comfortable sneakers too.

Something comfortable, you may be standing and sitting constantly during the race. I made the mistake when i went to Indy this year by not bringing sun block lotion...i got burned. Like someone said, check the upcoming weather conditions, and dress comfortable! I'd recommend a seat cushion too.

Whenever I have gone to races...........I wear shorts and my drivers shirt, cap and socks. So do my friends. Walking around and just sitting in the stands you can see all the different drivers fans. Of course you still see plenty of the greatest himself............#3 Dale Earnhardt. I still wear his intimadator things and am a huge fan of Dale Jr. So wear what you want and be comfortable.

What is comfortable to you... In July I wear Shorts and tank top.. In Sept jeans and jackets.. usually shirts support our favorite drivers.. if you dint have them yet everything is available at the track... only if there is a walmart near the track they will sell the clothing much cheaper.. we do a lot of our gift shopping when we go to the walmart near the track.
