I have a HP Deskjet 5440, and it is here with me. The installation disk is 45 miles away, and I've already been there once today. How can I install the printer without the disk?

Most of the HP printer drivers are located on the Windows CD under the i386 folder. Try installing the printer as normal. Then, when it's time to search for drivers, pop in your Windows CD. If that doesn't work, go to the HP website and download it from there.
