Mine is Fist Of The North Star. I like it because of the violence and the fact that a single punch can "blow-up" your enemies heads!

Akira for us old schoolers is top notch. The granddaddy of 'em all. Right up there with it is the whole Macross Series of Robotech. These are what sparked my love for Anime.
A lot of time passed in between good series, but I am going through the entire series of Neon Genesis. Story-wise, this is one of th best. Very spiritual, yet simple in how it is just a young boy who wants to please and honour his father.
Magic Knight Rayearth has been a close favourite of mine since I was a kid and I had a dream that my perfect woman closely resembled Fuu, the brunette with glasses.
Nowadays, Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are great to watch mostly because of the more mature plotlines and lack of Mecha.
Everyone loves Ghost in the Shell, but past the first movie, it really suffered, in my humble (yet long winded) opinion...

I believe the best Manga film for me is the Full Metal Alchemist. It is not just manga its mind blowing, The Idea that magic or witchcraft can be scientific and there is an equivalent exchange in nature if you believe that and the idea of alternate worlds just buy the DVD.

Ghost In The Shell 2. Incredible visuals and a compelling story. It's a bit philosophical at times but it's an incredible achievement in terms of the concepts that animation can present and how it can illustrate them.

If you mean Manga to Anime adaption, I'd say Akira hands down. Series, Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Movie- Howl's moving castle
Sheer talent of the makers. Each of them are objects or Art whether humor, fantasy or simply nice storyline with lots of engaging ideas

You mean film? mmm.. Hayao Miyazaki's The Castle in the Sky is the best.
I do love the landscapes on the film. very impressive.
