No but I have a cousin who is very mentally ill. I understand them a lot better now that I have a cousin who has the illness. I didn't understand how someone I grew up with and love so much could be acting and feeling the way she does. After knowing that her brain scan now shows differences from that of a non-mental person I see what a struggle she has and how she must suffer. It is so sad and I hate she or anyone has to go through life like this. Until she was diagnosed I looked down on mental illness as something you can control but I see how wrong i was for that
