I fear for Cancer the most than other diseases because -
1. Cancer – Though, today the entire world is contributing for treatment and eradication of this deadly disease, we are not successful. The reason for getting this and 100% cure or medication have not been found. The patient suffer unimaginably a lot and ultimately met with sad ending. The patient is not responsible for getting this, unlike AIDS or any other acquired diseases. This disease is increasing day by day with un-assessable percentage.
2. AIDS – This is also deadly but 95% of the patients got it only because of their own reasons like knowingly jumping in a deep well. We are yet to find proper medication and cure fopr this and percentage of mortality is increasing.
3. Flesh-eating disease is more properly called necrotizing fasciitis, a rare condition in which bacteria destroy tissues underlying the skin. This tissue death, called necrosis or gangrene, spreads rapidly. This disease can be fatal in as little as 12 to 24 hours. This is not a common disease and very few in certain countires only have. Study says it is only 0.0002% in world population.

For as long as I can remember, mental illness has been my greatest fear. Imagine having a healthy body and looking normal but your brain is in another place. You have difficulty communicating and looking forward to another day, rather than the black hole you are in. The life you once enjoyed is just a memory. It may be physiological but it may be chemical.
If you have a physical illness, people respond. If you are depressed, they don't have a clue. Explaining why you are sad is useless.

Definitely cancer, AIDS, those are scary. And like the guy previously stated, the flesh-eating disease, that is horrible. But, I would like to add a correction, it can be cured. My mom had it two years ago, at 62, with high blood pressure and diabetes, and she survived. I honestly didn't think she would, it is truly a horrible thing.

Any kind of cancer. I watched my mother go through chemo only to have the cancer return and she eventually died from it anyway. I swore I would never do it. I have a 2 year old now and don't know what I would do if I had to make that decision now. Seems like there are a lot of cancer deaths anymore throughout the US. Very scarey..

Necrotizing Faciitis. "flesh eating disease" There is no cure and it could possible eat a hole in your flesh the size of a football in a matter of hours, or it can kill you before surgeons even have the chance to cut it out. The worst part is no one really knows how it starts. It just kind of appears and goes to work.
