As with any medical condition, its best to treat the problem. It will eventually progress and become less tolerable. I have hypothyroid but I am treating with medication. I had hyperthyroid for a long time and had thyroid surgery....my whole life changed after that and it wasnt for the better. Take care of it

I have hypothyroid and it is not a big deal. You should be on a medication such as synthroid however. Hypo or underactive thyroid can slow your metabolism, cause weight gain, etc. If not treated there are other side effects to consider. See link below

I agree with the first answerer. I have the condition, and I have to take a pill every day for the rest of my life. One of my first symptoms of it was being cold in like 100* weather, and I slept a *lot*.
