I love board games. My all-time favorite is still Monopoly. I love other board games such as Balderdash, pictionary, cranium, Trivial Pursuit pop culture, Scene It, etc. You find these and other board games on for reasonable prices @ target, walmart or toys r us.

I really like The Construction Game. It's kind of like Monopoly, but more involved. Other fun board games are The Game of Life, Clue, Sorry, Balderdash...go to Walmart or something and look at the games. You'll find something that looks like fun.

For big groups (5+) games like Guesstures and Taboo are fun. For smaller groups, where you're able to actually sit down and have everyone focus on a board game, Life, Mall Madness, Scrabble, Risk, and Scattergories are good. For hard core strategy folks, might want to try Puerto Rico.

Fluxx. I picked up awhile ago and my wife who does not play games is absolutely addicted. It is a card game not a board game but that jut means it is more portable. There are expansion packs for it and you can even by blanxx cards to customize it. It is fast paced (or slow if you are inebriated) and you can win or you can make soneone else win. You can start with as many people as the dck has cards and if someone wants to join they can just draw a few cards off of the top and play. Despite the "xx" in the name it is incredibly NOT an adult game. Unless of course you buy the blanxx and make it one ;-)

Timeless classics. Life, Uno, Skip-Bo, Monopoly, Easy Money (a lot like Monopoly but easier), Checkers, Dominoes (lots of variations to that game. We like "turkey tracks") Most of these are found at Walmart, Kmart, Target, Dollar General, Family Dollar....some "Everything is a dollar" stores carry regular cards, dice, and dominoes. Some of these stores in IL are Dollar Tree, and Deals. Hopefully I have named a store by you and you find a game...Also a newer game that is good is Scattergories or Balderdash. These games cost $20 or less depending on which version you get. (Some stores carry multiple versions)

I would say it depends on who you're wanting to play this game with. If there are any children involved, games like Disney's Trivial Pursuit, Uno, or Kurplunk. Other wise, for adult group games I really enjoy the following; Scattergories, Mancala, Malarky, Cranium *excellent group game*, and trivial pursuit games!
The best place to buy these cheap are probably at wal-mart. Or, you could search ebay and see what people are selling!
Good Luck! :)

Uno is fun and cheap, but even better than Uno and more difficult to find is a card game called Phase 10, it's like a mix between Uno and Rummy.

Go to your local thrift stores and look thru the games. They have a weird assortment and they are all usually $1-4 dollars. I've gotten some very fun, interesting games that way.

I don't know if you could call it a board game, but Apples to Apples is the best game in the world if you have a group of four to ten people!
