I am not circumcised and I am 67 and have spent most of my life trying to wear it away but it hasn't worked. Like any other part of the male body, it is very important to keep it clean. The foreskin also protects the head of the penis when not in use. Also, many women prefer the uncircumcised penis because it gives them something to work with when massaging. If it was meant for us guys not to have a foreskin we would have been born without it like the rest of the males in the animal kingdom.

I believe that circumcision is becoming less popular. I know that there is a cost for it now, not covered on health plan.
Many years ago most boys were not circumsized and it probably meant many developed infections due to not bathing or showering daily. Years ago people pretty much took weekly bath and probably did not wash up after sex. Today, care is easier for males who are not circumsized unless you have a very tight foreskin and then you may have to have minor surgery. I would hope that mothers stress to their sons the importance of a proper bathing procedure to thoroughly clean the penis, outside and under the foreskin. I do think that circumcision can take away some of the pleasure of sex, for a guy but somehow, I don't believe that cut or uncut matters to a female.

Yes i am. But there has been recent studies that show the decrease in circumcisions due to the fact that the reason to have this procedure done was to reduce the chance of infection. Now Science has come to a new idea that this is not as plausible as you might think. I also am concerned about the professionalism of this medical procedure. My son was circumcised a few years back and upon inspection it looks like the man may have done a bad job. Also now that Science says that is not true about infection that even medicare will no longer cover the costs. Numbers seem to be decreasing the amount of circumcisions.

1. I'm not circumcised, and I'm happy they way I am. I've never had any problems whatsoever.

2. Of course I wouldn't really know, but I wouldn't care about their opinion. I mean, it's not their body.

3. It's definitely gotten less popular. Around 80% of the world's male population is uncircumcised and most of them don't seem to have any problems. In the US the rate has fallen from almost 90% to around 60% in the last few decades. Hopefully it'll continue to decrease as most of the time, it really is an unnecessary procedure. If it needs to be done for medical reasons, it needs to be done. But such cases aren't that common.

I am not circumsized and I am happy with the way I am.

I am 31 and have never goten any type of infection. I think the infection aspect of it is hogwash. If you pull back your foreskin and wash with soap you will never have a problem.

Also, if you are circumsized, you lose sensitivity because of the constant rubbing you incur daily. I don't have that problem because my head is very sensitive since it is covered all the time.

If I ever have boys I will never have their foreskins cut. My two brothers and my dad are also the same as me.

1. I'm 22 and yes I'm circumcised
3. The popularity of circumcision is either staying the same (in areas like the North/East, it's around 80%, the same as the last 20 or so years), or it's decreasing (in the West, it's down to about 35%, in the South it's down to about 65% from like 85% in the 1980s). It does make it easier to clean and I don't think it reduces pleasure, so why not do it? Most women prefer it anyway.

1. Yes, I am.
2. Doesn't apply to me - Im a guy.
3. Routine infact Circumcision is less popular in US now than it has been, yet the total percentage of boys born is US who are circumcised is higher - this means even though ped's are not circumcising newborns boys as freely as they used to, parents and other doctors are circumcising the unuct boys later. In addition to the US data, the number of boys/men globally who are now circumcised is growing - since UN and doctors now believe that circumcision helps prevent spread of AIDS and HPV/cervical cancer. UN and several AIDS prevention groups are now paying doctors and medical facilities in Africa and Asia to circumcise more people in order to prevent spread of AIDS. In addition - many countries that previously shunned circumcision are now adopting it on account of fashion or healthier practice (with nothing negative against it).

A Lot of people here will argue that its bad etc... but lets face the truth - circumcised guys also get erections, have a healthy sex life (including masturbate) and lead a good clean/healthy life in addition to helping reduce spread of AIDS and HPV (cause of cirvical cancer). So, if you are speculating to cut or not cut - I'd say go ahead and do it. have faith - this practice has been in existense for over 5000 years and hasn't disappeared - there must be some good to it.

1 I'm a woman
2 no I don't prefer circumcised, just good hygiene.

3 Hopefully it's getting less. The is no medical reason to do it. Even the American Academy of Pediatrics has come out against it.

It became so widespread in the US as an attempt to reduce masturbation.

THERE IS NO DEFINITIVE MEDICAL REASON TO CIRCUMCISE!
