Hey, I feel you so much haha. I'm actually the exact same way, but possibly in another way. When I was younger I even thought I had figured out life
(Ironically it had to do with puzzles: That life was like a puzzle, a million pieces, and once you put the whole picture all together [at the end of your life] then you just break it all up, tear it apart, and put it in a box for the next person to figure out)
In any case, I know what you mean.. Except I never understood math, never liked math, and actually I won't even think about that past this point. Like your question really speaks to me, because I felt exactly the same way...
Lots of people would tell me how smart I was, but at the same time, when I discovered something that was common sense...so many times I would hear "You didn't know that?" like silly little things that everyone is supposed to know, after a little bit, I got really worried because, I started hearing that term WAY too much "You didn't know that?!?!" Like I have a broad mind I believe (not trying to be cocky) but I think of every possible idea, option, possibility, in a matter of seconds- In fact, I even try to think about what other people may think and jump to conclusions that way. In general it just feels like I can never turn my brain off, because i'm always thinking about something, all the way to thinking about why I think so much, and how to avoid it (severe insomniac here) I believe its the left brain, right brain and possibly have the left or right brain working twice as hard as the other side.. So it seems like you don't get common sense, even though you do (it just takes a little bit longer because you learn these "common things" not by simply memorizing it, but learning all about it, how it works, and why (Which is why math doesn't work for me, because normal people memorize, but me, I need to know EXACTLY why it works, and that would take so long, I would have to devote more time to it, and I get bored with it easy) I never used to do homework ethier, but i'd ace the tests... However, that doesn't get you out of highschool i'm sorry to say. I think though, once you organize your mind a little more, people will start to look at you with a new light. I can tell by your writing that your just all over the place, and you want a quick fix, or a quick answer, but there is no way for a quick answer, it take time, and unfortunately, it involves more thinking. I just wanted to say though I know how you feel, because in highschool I could good "great" B+ or A+ work in less than half the time an average kid could do it with half the effort. But think, what you could achieve putting the same effort into it as other kids, the result is above and beyond. I don't know how to answer your question, but I mean, of course, its possible to be this way... I am too ^_^
Yikes... I have more to add... Well also was just remembering that in school, I was easily a popular, goofy stupid kid, but at the same time acing my tests like I said, which was kind of funny, because my classmates just thought I cheated, because I had the ability to lead, and "be cool" and avoid being classified as a geek, at the same time, I was competing with these 'geeks' on who could get a better grade on the last quiz... It's hilarious, chameleon like... But yea, math, I just don’t get, I ace everything but math. I would have no idea how you do it, haha ^_^

Yeah it's possible. Some people who are smart are not practical or have common sense at all. It happens all the time. They find it hard to focus and set their priorities. They have so many ideas going in their heads right now. You don't remember as good; because you lack the motivation to learn or to remember.

It's possible. I had a housemate that was the president of the local Mensa chapter, yet he couldn't handle basic finance, like paying bills, budgeting, and so on. He was going rapidly broke. He finally got some counseling, learned how to use coupons, etc.

that is very possible. some people have book smarts but have no common sense. common sense is one of the only things that cannot be learned from reading a book

Why are you focusing on what you 'think' you don't have?
Empower your Self!
DO this:
Go to a mirror and look deep into your eyes(not at your eyes) and tell your Self I love you, and I honor who you are and what you are.
Do this right before you go to bed and right when you get up.
You will be a different person within a few weeks.

IQ and high achievement scores are very different from organizational and even life skills. Having a high IQ or high achievement scores doesn't make you *good* at everything.

yes, it is possible. it's now more defined as the IQ and EQ. those with higher IQs do very well in their academics. those with higher EQ can deal more with life and existence with ease. what one must try to achieve is a fairly balanced !Q and EQ. thus, we say...all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.

I hate it when they MAKE you show your work, if you can get the answer...who cares about the process...they think you're cheating or something, and to me that's not right. Everybody learns differently. But yeah...to answer your question....it's obviously possible...because you are that, eh!
