Tea tree oil works best and it is not carcinogenic like bleach. The pain stops immediately and jump starts the healing.

there is a natural product you can buy in health food stores called "Colloidal Silver" that is great for all kinds of things. but it works better than anything I've ever used other than a RX. when you first start feeling the tingling, put some on a Q-tip and and apply. do this a few times a day, and it will prevent it from even breaking out. this stuff is like a natural anti-biotic. it will stop cuts from bleeding when applied. and you can also take it internally for infections, or if you're prone to colds and flu, they make it with Echinacea. i buy it that way so i can use it for sores or colds and flu. it's kind of pricey, but it's also sold in small bottles so you can see how it works for you.go to a health food store and ask for some info. or get an 800# off a bottle and call and ask the company about it. it really does work, and it'll last you forever. good luck

Preperation X is for Hemeroids not cold sores. I can tell you one thing that is definetly not the stuff to use. Try getting some Viractin that really works good. It has taken mine away in less than 2 days.

Make a paste of bake soda ( Arm & Hammer) and aply it on the cold sore, it will hurt at first for some time however it will dry that thing up and you will be good to go sooner than you think. Yes i have tried it and it does work.

There are specific medications you can get at the pharmacy that are not prescription. Go ask someone there what you can use and they will show you the brands available.

L-Lysine is known to keep the herpes virus at bay. You'll need to take it everyday, though. Recommend a capsule form.
