everybody is different...but on the depo you shouldn't be bleeding! that's odd because the depo make you body to go into early menopause. truly there is nothing good about this shot unless you consider getting the calcium sucked out of your bones OK. get off of it asap! it hasn't happened here in the states yet... but in Canada there are multi - million dollar law suits going on!

Women who want to become pregnant may stop using Depo Provera at any time. For some women, fertility returns immediately. For others, it may take 6-18 months or longer for the body's hormone cycle to go back to normal. Going Off Depo The book Contraceptive Technology says: "It is not possible to discontinue Depo Provera immediately. Weight gain, depression, breast tenderness, allergic reactions, and menstrual irregularities may continue until Depo Provera is cleared from a woman's body, about 6 to 8 months after her last injection. After discontinuing Depo Provera, women may also have a 6 to 12 month delay in return of fertility."

I was on depo for 5 years and didn't have a period at all during that time. It came back about 4 months after the last shot, so about a month after it wore off.

I begin depo in December of 04 and my last depo shot was in October 05 and I just got my first period at the beginning of this month. My period was only a two or three days longer than it normally is. It is going to take time for your body to get regulated again.

I got tired of the bleeding too and my hair was falling out.

I was due for my next shot on July 12th but started the mini pill instead. Within a week, my bleeding stopped and my hair is beginning to stop falling out now.

If your goal is to get pregnant, it took me a year and a half plus medications to have my first child.
