Me and my 3rd cousin have a lot in common. We have a lot of the same issues and problems. We both have children, so we wouldn't have any more. He is a great guy and we get along so well. My children really like him, and they have gotten this close to anyone since their dad left. What should I do? He is a great guy and I have never met anyone as kind and sweet as he is.

if it's your 3rd cousin it doesnt matter anymore if you like him/her you can even marry him/her as long as he/she is feeling the same way you do.. ant it is legal too.. and if your family accepts and acknowledge your relationship then i dont think there's a problem with that at all..
*but not acceptable for 2nd degree or 1st degree cousins

first define exactly how he is your third cousin, if he really isn't that closely related its not a big deal
also aside from blood relative, did you grow up close together like first cousins or did you not really meet and get to know each other until you were both older
find out how your immediate family feels, if they are all comfortable with it, then go ahead be together,and just don't mention the family relation to other people, if your families do have a hardship with it, you need to decide which is more important

I don't see anything wrong with liking or dating your 3rd cousin.
What is wrong is,,, since he has children of his own..
Is he still married.... if yes..... and are you divorced. if not. Then, that would be all wrong
In some parts of the world,,, even 1st cousins were made to marry with each other in order to conserve the wealth of the family,,, within the family...

first of it's still incest (although past 2nd cousins the chance of retardation is slim) you have to understand the emotional issues it could create having their step father (or mom's boyfriend) also be they're cousin and also think if you broke up and had to see him a family functions!

Legally I believe that is illegal in a lot of states. Plus, well he is your cousin and that is not morally right. But everyone has different morals.
