I used to be in a happy marriage and time flew for me. Now that my marriage is down the drain it just seems to be going nowhere. Time just seems to drag on.

Definitely slow if it's an unhappy marriage.Especially the weekends.
In a happy marriage time flies by so fast you don't even see it .
Why?
well think about it. Before you were married did you have any classes that you hated didn't it feeel like it was going to last forever. Did you ever have a job that you hated and you ended up looking at your watch every 5 minutes? We feel trapped doing something we don't enjoy as much.
YOU just don't enjoy it . You feel like in prison. you want out.
What's sad is that the majority of the people don't even realize how unhappy they are and end up spending their life misarable.
Learn from your mistakes/ get out before it's toooo late. and think about it. Why would you be with someone or do something that you don't enjoy. You live once. Take out the most of it. It's all up to you to be happy or unhappy. You make your own day every single day. No on e else to blame for your own actions. Take control of your life. And help others realize the same thing.
THere is always tommorrow. you don't have to look back. Just think about the moment you live in.

With a bad marriage the work day goes by fast. You dread the end of the day and look for ways to keep working so you don't have to go home. Once you get there, the torture begins. Every breath seems to take forever. You watch the clock until you can escape to bed.
A good marriage is different. You feel the work day drags by until it is time to leave and rush home to your loved one. You can't wait to be with them. You try to spend as much time with them as possible, and even stay up way too late so you don't miss a chance to talk to them.
So to answer your question:
Yes, time drags by in a bad marriage, but it seems to fly by in a good marriage.

Ya I think you got it right. My husband and I have been married for over 10 years and I can still remember when we were just getting to know each other, it seems like only last week. But I do see some of my friends who say like they have been married for ever and a couple of them haven't even been married a year.
Sure am glad I got a good marriage and 2 GREAT children.

i think time flies so fast in happy marriages because you're enjoying every minute with him/her.. and all you're doin is for your family and it's all because with the love that you have!! you feel inspired and motivated every day from the moment you wake up to the moment you lay down at night!
and what's worse than marrying someone you dont love? you always see the negatives in your relationship, in your life.. you dont have motivations.. you're not inspired to work hard.. you're always irritated.. and you're not happy with the life you have so i guess that makes time go by so slow on unhappy marriages..

I think time does fly, I've been married for 6 years also, been with him for 10. Seems like just yesterday we had our first kiss.
And yeah, I'm sure if I was unhappy it would drag.

of course if you are happy in a marriage time will go faster and will go by far more pleasant... if you are in an unhappy marriage.. time will drag... just like anything else...
my advice to your friend.. if he's unhappy .. try to work on it to try to make it better.. if that doesn't work.. move on... we all deserve happiness in our lives....
sometimes it's best to be happy alone... rather than miserable in a relationship

there is a old saying
marry in haste, repent in leisure
i believe that if you are not happy, time is an eternity of emptiness
if you are happy, time flies by & there is never enough .
