I would like to go to college without going to the navy but I don't think I'd be able to afford it. The private university I want to go to costs $4,500 per semester. The college is University of Advancing Technology.

The U.S military might pay your way through a lot of the college costs if you become an army reserve. It's called the ROTC program. You'll have to research that program. Here's a link on college scholarships related to it.

make sure to search around the Army ROTC website.
If you are considering college, you should take the ACT or the SAT before you leave high school, preferably in late junior or early senior years. Also, if you are a senior this year, you shouldn't just not apply to college. There is some financial aid available. So don't give up.
The SAT or the ACT is not required for the navy at any means, but I would suggest taking it anyways since you are still thinking about college.

The ASVAB is designed for a diverse objective than the ACT and SAT. The ASVAB is designed to foretell fulfillment interior the protection tension, mutually as the ACT and SAT are designed to foretell fulfillment in college. as a effect, the content cloth of the ASVAB isn't like the content cloth of the ACT and SAT, and diverse examinee populations take the ASVAB and ACT and SAT tests. as a result, overall performance on the ACT or SAT isn't inevitably a very solid exchange for overall performance on the ASVAB, or vice versa. with the intention to be sure that each and one and all applicants are held to the comparable assessment standards, that's needed for each individual to take the ASVAB.

I believe you will need to take the ASVAB-
The Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery is a series of tests developed by the Department of Defense in the 1960s. Until recently, the battery consists of 10 individual tests of the following subjects: Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Arithmetic Reasoning, Mathematics Knowledge, General Science, Auto & Shop Information, Mechanical Comprehension, Electronics Information, Numerical Operations, and Coding Speed.
It's a placement test, They want to see what catagory you fall in whether clerical, technical, security forces, culinary, etc. and that's what you will take up in the military. They will give you a placement list and you will choose what is open/available and similar to your qualifications.

no, you don't need an act or sat for the navy. You take the ASVAB which is an aptitude test, Once you are in the navy you can take SAT's or ACT's for free, and they are only good for 3 years.
