I am a 31 yr old woman, and I have always gotten along better with guys. I was a serious tomboy growing up. My best friend of 27 yrs is a male. I have female friends, but only a small few who can hang out without being catty. When I hang out with my guy friends, I can just be me and not have to worry about the drama that follows my girl friends around.

I am a 21 year old female. I agree with you. I have more male friends than female friends. Most females make me really uncomfortable when I'm around them for some reason. I never quite figured out why. Maybe it's that opposites attract thing.

I'm a 48 year old male.
I don't have female "friends".
I know lots of women and get on great with them. Sincerely. At least when I haven't got their partners in to trouble or something, and I'm in the doghouse because of it. But I would never think of a single one of them as a friend, exactly. I don't see how a fella can be a friend to a woman; the sex thing would always get in the way.
There again, maybe it depends how we define what a friend is.
I dunno.
I just tend to think that a female friend is just a mate one hasn't yet slept with. And if I don't sleep with her, she will always be the mate of a fella I may call a friend.
Which is probably sexist, or something, but I'm too shallow and superficial to concern myself with that.
If you see what I mean...

Same here. Your right about that drama queen thing, i hate that crap. And I definatly dont want to get together with a bunch of females and get my hair done or paint my nails, just not my style. Besides women are so dam jealous of each other its pathetic. I hang out with mostly men, and my sisters, they're cool. I'm 32.

I am a female and my close friend is a male. We are both married and our spouses know about us -- we are just platonic friends - I think I have more male friends because like the original poster of this question said, males create less drama then us women. ( I count myself, 'cuz I've done the same thing...)

I'm 19, and I'd say it's more or less equal for me. I have a lot of guys who are my friends, but they always want it to be MORE than a friendship. That's probably why they start talking to me in the first place, but...
At school it's all guys - I barely talk to any of the girls. Guys are so much more easy-going and don't bother you with all their drama.
