Yes. "Convertible" means top up or top down. There are cars that do not have tops. They are called roadsters. The first Dodge Vipers to come on the market did not have tops.

That is what the word, "convertible" means.

The car can "convert" from one WITH a top, to one WITHOUT a top.

Some convertibles have either a fabric top or an articulated one that folds into a space behind the back seats. Others, have to have the tops removed, and stored somewhere.

Yes, in fact they do. if its raining, and ur convertable is outside, you can press a button inside the car and the top will close by itself. press it again and it will open.

All that are made this at this time. Some of the ones made at the turn of the century didn't, but that soon changed when the ladies werer out riding.
