Sliding Doors, i loved London in that film. I actually made a 450 mile round train journey just to potter around in London for the day after seeing it.
I also bought a map and went to look at the square where Gwyneth & Johns' house was in the film - completely surrounded by hotels, it's amazing how they can make things appear on camera.

I was greatly influenced by "It's A Wonderful Life". You know, that schmaltzy film they bring out every Christmas. The very first time I saw it (aged about 12), I realised that every single person - no matter how lowly in life - serves a purpose and is connected to everybody else in some way. It has always served me well to keep this in mind whenever someone irritates me or when I am tempted to feel superior in some small way. I still get a great feeling whenever I watch it.

James Bond was a big influence on me as a boy. Now I'm older it's less so but I've borrowed characters like him for my own stories.
