Not sure what your cut-off is for "leader" but, sure, there are some actual humans in those two fields.
Of course, too many people vote for and watch the honesty-challenged, which is where they get their power.
This is why I think we need an educational system that arms all students with the very finest in BS detectors. If most citizens and consumers of media were able to think clearly, relevantly, and deeply, this problem would go away.
"You may say I'm a dreamer...."

The answer is "Yes". But one must be prepared for the BS because unfortunately, right now, much of the world is pre-occupied with BS. We BS each other and BS around so much that it's no mystery that we have chosen a BS system. But change is the only thing that remains the same. Stay tuned [in]... Good luck with that!

Yes, it is possible; there are some who honestly tell you they don't know what they can do until they get into an office and make public they compromises that they have to make once they do get in. Kip Holden, former Louisiana Senator and now Mayor of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a great example of this. And Jeff LeDuff, current Baton Rouge Chief of Police, who rose through the ranks, is another fine example. Talk to the people of Baton Rouge and they will let you know.

There are two types of people.
1. Those who don't think that they are full of BS.
2. Those who know that they are and don't care.
Which are you? (I'm # 2.)
BTW: There's a lot of BS at the bottom, too.

Not until people tire of greed and power. Throughout history, every public leader has been carried on the shoulders of the "haves", and walked on the backs of the "have nots". Nowadays, you have to constantly play the game of Scratch My Back and I'll Scratch Yours, or we would have Billy Bob Joe Blow in office. So usually the "have nots" get smoke blown up their * beep!*

The people who are best qualified to be in politics (making decisions for the overall good of society) are far too ethical and honest to ever run for office. That's what's referred to as a Catch 22.

A popular saying goes,"Anything is possible" but your question strains the premise.
I have one of my own: A person has to be either crooked or crazy or a combination of the two to seek high office.

You can't please everyone if you are completely honest. If you don't please everyone, you can't win any elections. So, the only way to win a majority of the votes is to BS here and there.
One unfortunate exception to this rule is GW, who lost the popular vote with his BS. (However, he still won the election. How?! Dump on the BS until you can't breath!!!)
