My 10 month old girl loves it so much in the tub that anytime she hears the water being turned on she books it to the bathroom for a tub. I think it is wonderful that it is so easy to get her in the tub, but the hard part is getting her out! This is the only thing she ever screams about and throws a total fit. Do you have any idea to make the end of tubby time easier?

Maybe have a special toy she only gets after her bath? Do you have a partner/spouse? Maybe they can try. A change of pace might help her. Just try to stay calm yourself.

Sorry, but I agree she will outgrow it. Doesn't help when you're in the thick of things, though, eh?

Edited to add: Just thought of this....Perhaps it would help her transition if you made a little ritual (like habit), sing a getting out of the tub song, have her fav. toy waiting, have a special snuggle rhyme while you dry her off and rub lotion on her, whatever you develop.

Divert her attention to something else she likes like a promise of a favorite cartoon on DVD or a favorite toy. You can also try the old Tom Sawyer painting the fence is fun trick. Get an exaggerated excited about something else not bath related and see if her interest is peaked. This works on my daughter.

umm let the water like ... empty as shes sitting there and then when theres no water left she'll want to get out. aw thats so cute loll. how about you can feed her AFTER a bath so that shes hungry and wants to get out. but if she throws a fit you just can't give in DONT GIVE IN!! lolll id just pull the empty thing and let the water slowly drain as shes in there. try it.

you could always gradually decrease the temp of the tub until they decide its time to get out. Not anything cruel, but just uncomfortable enough that they want to get into pjs.

for a 10 month old, just take her out when its time. no reasoning with a 10 month old. good luck!!!!
