a baby at 14? I am not saying for the whole sex thing, honestly, just to have a baby real bad. I know I am young but sometimes I just think that someday I want to, and sometimes I think too early, but I never did anything with anyone or had sex, and I know better to wait till at least I'm an adult. But is it normal to have thoughts of wanting a child, at a younger age?

At 14 ???? My God girl , you have your whole life ahead of you. i would not dip into motherhood til you were old enough & responcible enough to take care of a child.

I know that this Generation of teens are growing up faster, & are becoming more independent than us babyboomers of the 60's.
But you really don't want to miss your teen years having fun with your friends and not having a whole lot of responcibility.

I still remember my teen years, and they were the best time of my life. If i could live my life over again, it would be in the time when i was a roughty guy, who done nothing but party his butt off.

So take some time to enjoy your youth while you have it, believe me, when you get to be around my age, you'll want to be a teen again, and be crazy with your friends.. ;P

It is a normal female reaction to want a baby when you begin to become a woman around your age. To actually have one would be unfair to yourself and the baby because you are not ready for the responsibilities. Why don't you take some babysitting classes at your local Red Cross and get jobs as a babysitter when you feel responsible to handle it after your classes. This will let you in on just some of what it takes to have a baby around 24/7. Good luck.

Honey, think this through. You are only 14. This isn't baby doll play now. You will go through changes in your body and morning sickness. And then when the baby comes you will be responsible for getting up at all hours of the night with this child. You will change it's diaper and you will have to work to provide for it. You will be responsible for this child 24/7 until this child leaves your home. Are you ready to set aside your life at this point when you just started wearing makeup and hopefully haven't even started dating yet? No more going out with your friends etc.?
You can want kids up the road but don't waste your youth on having one at this age. You will regret it later.
And on the same note, when you are married, it will not be a burden to you to have a child because all of the people your age will do the same and you will have something in common. But at 14 your friends will have nothing in common with you and will not stick around to watch your child with you. They will be going out and enjoying their teens.

Yes, it is normal. But no matter how badly you want it, it is best to wait. There is too many things you should experience in life before you become responsible for another. And no matter how strong you are or how much support you have, you just can't or at least shouldn't do certain things once you become a parent. Your child is going to need you 24/7 no matter what.

Its normal to think this way and even feel this way....Your a young girl on verge of womanhood and the emotions and cycles are beginning inside you. In the old days girls of your age were already giving birth and making a family. Both here in the States and abroad but I do think you should obviously wait till your much older...having children is alot of responsibility its not just tender love...its alot of care!!!The best advise to you is to stay a kid as long as you can....you have all the rest of your Life to be a adult!!

Yea, that's normal. As long as you don't act on that desire, don't worry about it. There will come a day when you are financially, physically, and emotionally ready for one.

I'm 24 and desperately want one, but realize that my partner and I simply do not have the funds and the time for a child right now.

It doesn't take a mature person to want a child, it takes a mature person to care for a child. At 14, you simply can't do that and that is terribly unfair to the child.

sure sweetheart. i was the same way. i wanted a baby real bad since i was that young too. i got one at 24 and I'm crazy about my daughter. i guess some women just have more expressed maternal instinct. as long as u understand that wanting isn't enough to have a baby, it's a lot of responsibilities too.

Its okay to think about it as long as thats where it stays....in your thoughts. Trust me a baby around your age is ludacris and 3 of my best friends were 16 and 17 when they first had their kids and anyone of them would tell you that its not easy. Luckily ONE finished high school. This is another life you are talking about and it wouldnt be fair to that life if you could not give it everything it needs to grow into a well-nurished, happy, person. Please dont try it. Plus Sex Hurts!!!

No. Are you going to change the baby, take it to the doctor, up with at night when the baby cries, while you go to school, not be able to go shopping or parties with friends or just hang out. Stay overnight with a relative who has a baby & see what you think then.

Yes, it is normal for teens to want a baby. Because they see people around then and hold them, but what you don't realise is that you have them forever not just when thy r good. And they are a big responsiblity. Also you cant have sex till your 16
