I am 27 wks...I also heard that putting headphones on your stomach ends up sounding to the baby like the music in a loud dance club. I was just curious if the sound/vibrations can carry that far in your body...

DUH I realize that the baby hears thru his/her own ears...I'm not that stupid. But thanks for the vote of confidence.

Yes, your baby can most likely hear the music when you put head phones on your (stomach) it would be unlikley for the baby to hear the music that you hear in your ears. The vibrations of the sound will reach your baby if you put music to your tummy. Even if it does sound as loud as a club it is always better if the baby is used to loud noises that way your baby can sleep when she is born even when there are loud noises around.

No, most likely, even putting headphones on your stomach will not allow your baby to hear the sounds until the 3rd trimester when your stomach is stretched out and the baby is typically very closely wedged against your belly.

No, you need to put the headphones on your stomach. I've heard that classical music can make a baby smarter....but that may just be an old wives tale. =) Good luck!

If you place the headphones on your stomach. Just putting them on your own ears does nothing. But you should put something soothing in and put them on your stomach, and talk to your stomach. Rub it and let the little one know you're talking to him or her. It is relaxing for both you and the baby!

Nope. your baby hears through his or her ears, not yours. If you want your baby to hear the music, put the headphones on your belly or use your speakers so you can both listen.

No. You need to put the headphones up to your belly. Your ears are not connected to your baby's ears. LMAO!

your eardrums are not connected to your uterus so your baby won't hear what your listening to in your headphones. but i know your baby can hear sounds outside the womb so just play music on your cd player if thats what you want
