1) Loose the baggage. Let the emotional baggage go. It's not worth the pain and misery it requires to carry it.
2) Leave yourself open to new people and new things. A closed mind is like a stone wall. It may seem to protect you but it becomes a prison as well as a sanctuary.
3) Smile at everyone. Many people will smile back those who don't will think you have a secret. Smiles must be given away before they can be received.
4) Work hard. Since the dawn of time, man has defined himself by the sweat of his brow. Somethings never change. At the end of the day, not only can you be proud of what you've accomplished, but you will sleep soundly and well.
5) Find the "magic" that recharges your batteries. For some it is classical music, for others it's the company of good friends, and for still others it's a walk in the woods, a good book, or a good movie.
6) Do something unexpected and crazy. Not only does it break the monotony of everyday life, but it reminds us that we are human and not a machine.
7) Spend time with children and old people. They remind us of who we were and what we will be. Children are innocent, elderly people are wise. Learn from both.

First; you gotta find out what's "down there", what are your issues that need acceptance & looking after. THEN, warts & all- you say to yourself, "Ok, this is ME- & I can deal with it." THEN you examine your inclinations (whatever they may be)- do the same thing, & figure out how you can accomodate them without going to jail, being socially condemned- or losing your job. THAT achieved- your "Inner You" should be happy, and people will start lining up at your front door & asking; "How do you keep your 'inner you' happy? !

Dont think of yourself as having an inner me. That is all 80s and 90s BS self help garbage. If you want to be happy, do things you enjoy and stop doing things to make other people happy that you dont enjoy.

I find Baileys, Belgium Chocolates and other small indulgences do the trick. But thats probabl;y because I also take care of the 'big stuff' like not having a job I detest etc.

Picture yourself on an idyllic. South Pacific island. See yourself on the sun-bleached sands. Relaxed yourself in the sunshine. With not a care in the world.

Get loose, free yourself from everything, enjoy life to the maximum, treat yourself every once in a while... something along that line...
