Yogurt can help prevent yeast infections. In fact, if you go on anti-biotics, doctors recommend you eat one to two containers a day to help prevent YI. The "good bacteria" in the yogurt called lactobacillus acidophilus helps keep your intestinal and vaginal flora balanced. Anti-biotics don't discriminate against good and bad bacteria very well and end up killing some good ones.
Yogurt can also treat a YI. You insert some unflavored, no sugar yogurt up there just like you'd use monistat. There are many other natural remedies for curing a yeast infection. Try checking out http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina/ for tons of information!

Prevent may be too strong of a statement. But yes, yogurt has been known to help the process of getting over one, and also keeping that system healthy and clean, thereby reducing the chance of yeast infection. That's what doctors say to do. Likewise, drink lots of cranberry juice to help prevent
UTIs.

Sometimes. It depends on how much acidophilous is in the yogurt and whether or not it is active. Yogurs vary widely. It might be better to just supplement with Acidophilous. I would recommend that you get it from a health food store and buy a type that needs to be refrigerated. These usually have the most live/active cultures in them and do you the most good. This has helped me with prevention of recurrent yeast infections in the past.

Yes! Research has proven that the lactobacillus acidophillus in yogurt fights yeast infections. It helps the body suppress unwanted bacteria and the growth of candida the cause of 'yeast' infections.

Yes...the best kind to use is the new Apple Crunch. When you are done applying the yogurt you put on the apple bits. It will make it taste much better. It is only 6 carbs! So enjoy.
