If you work at a bar then no. If you work in an office or somewhere where you have to climb a telephone pole and could possible fall off then yes it is irresponsible.

I personally don't drink at all, but I know some people that are better able to deal with the public if they have a small drink before starting.
Most likely, though, you are an alcoholic and should seek help.

If you're only having one or two drinks, I don't think so. If you make it a habit, then yeah, maybe you have some issues... ;)
