Some women loose their mucus plug at the onset of labour and some up to two weeks prior to labour. I would say that being 100% efaced you are in good standing to have a baby soon. I would do alot of walking, which is going to help you dialate. Enjoy these last few moments or hours as a whole new life is about to arise.

It sounds like labor may be starting on it's own. The mucus plug part has got very little to do with it. You can lose your plug months before you actually go into labor and have the baby. Trust me on that one since both times I have lost my plug at 26 weeks and still went full term.

For me, it was still another week. The mucus plug being released does, however, mean that you are dilated enough for the plug to pass through. Labor may not be imminent, but dilation is better than no dilation, and 100% effaced means your cervix is ready to go. Try nipple stimulation or sex, which will bring on contractions, whether temporary or not, and can help with the dilation. You can also try bouncing gently on an exercise ball (GENTLY being key!) and the baby's head could help dilation along a bit. Good luck, and I hope labor is near! At 41 weeks, it can't be that much longer.

In your case, it really sounds to me like you may go into labor in the next day or so, especially since you're overdue.
But you may not, because all cases are different. I lost mine at about...38 weeks, if I remember right, and I never did go, even after having my membranes stripped twice. I was 70% effaced and 1 cm dialted for about 3 weeks, and then I had a c-section at 41 1/2 weeks, due to lowering levels of fluid, and the baby turning all sorts of around and deciding to settle frank breech.
My sister-in-law, however, lost her plug in bits over a whole week, and after the doctor told her it was all the way gone, he stripped her membranes and she went into labor within about 3 days.
Good luck!

that was definitely your mucous plug. You could have the baby anywhere from a few hours to few weeks. Of course the doctors will induce labor if you're 2 weeks over which is only a week away from you. Have you scheduled an induction already? If not, schedule one.
Ways to bring on labor are sex, nipple stimulation, spicy food, walking, castor oil, and stripping the membranes.
Goodluck and Congratulation!

Labor is definitely near if you lost your plug. It could be at any time though. There is no set time as to how soon after you lose the plug til when your labor starts. It is generally within a couple of days to a week.

It's a good sign, but be aware that the mucous plug can be quite long (a few inches). Take a nap. Every day. Rest. A lot. Drink lots of water and avoid caffeine. Buy or cut some fresh flowers. Eat light, frequent snacks. Get ready for the FUN to begin!!!!!

It can be anywhere from weeks to hours...when your water breaks or you start having contractions for over an hour 5 minutes or less apart go to the hospital. And good luck I am waiting to hear I am effaced and dialated!
