If you buy it dont u have the rights to do whatever as long as u bought it?Would the fbi kick in your door for making a couple of your own mix cds from archives you own.I.E. that u didnt get from file sharing programs?

you can do that, as long as you don't start distributing them. legally, you have the right to use the music for private use only. you don't have the right to do whatever just because you paid for it. it's the same general principle as used in software (although not taken to that extreme) where the software company actually still owns the software that you "bought." the price you paid for it is actually just a license to use their software

As far as I know, it's legal. You bought the CD, therefore allowing yourself freedom to burn the songs. I think the FBI and record companines get upset when people download songs for free...at least when you buy the CD, you're technically paying for the songs.

It is illegal to make a copy of COPYRIGHTED material but if you are going to do so do not distribute, sell or let anyone borrow you CD mix in any shape or form for instance online file sharing like LIMEWIRE.

As long as you're not selling them, I don't see the problem. That's all my music collection is anymore is random mixes I keep in the car

if you give it to someone or sell it, then yes it is. but seeing is that you bought it, i dont think so. but i dont see why youd want to do that if you have the CD'S?

no as long as you dont sell them through a company. you can make mixed c.d.'s
