Chelation therapy is a medical treatment performed in a doctor's office that improves metabolic function and blood flow through blocked arteries throughout the body. This is accomplished by administering an amino acid, ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid (EDTA), by an intravenous infusion using a small 25-gauge needle. The health benefits of EDTA are multifold. EDTA improves heart, brain, kidneys, lungs, and all other organ functions by reducing atherosclerotic plaque in the vascular system; removes toxic metals from the blood; helps prevent heart attack, stroke, and varicose veins by inhibiting blood clotting; makes bones stronger and reduces cholesterol by improving calcium and cholesterol metabolism; and even improves skin quality and wrinkles. Chelation is a detoxification method. Commonly used to rid the body of heavy metals.
Chelation therapy is a process involving the use of chelating agents to remove heavy metals from the body. For the most common forms of heavy metal intoxication, those involving lead, arsenic or mercury, the standard of care in the US dictates the use of DMSA. This, in addition to other chelating agents such as DMPS and alpha lipoic acid (ALA), are used in conventional medicine; their uses in alternative medicine are highly controversial.

I suggest you google Kelation/Chelation Therapy.
I once worked for a physician, who used Chelation Therapy to treat certain patients with Scleroderma, but I know other physicians who use it to treat patients with other conditions.
Good Luck..Do Your Research :)
