Goes forward fine but has a kick to it. Checked fluid levels fine. Serviced about 15000 miles ago. Think new filter and flush might help or am I probably going to need new trans?

I had a BMW which 'had a kick to it'; in the morning it didn't go in 2 after driving some distance.
I needed to replace the gearbox.
REPAIRING the gearbox is in most cases (much) more expensive then just to find and apply another box, or even more expensive then just scrap your car and buy another one.

Normally when reverse goes out first, it's a sign of a failing tranny. I'd try the fluid and filter change first...it might help and it can't really hurt...but my gut says it's rebuild time. The lack of reverse and the "kicking" indicate failing clutches. On a '93 car, assuming you have average miles on it, you should be well over 120,000 by now, so it's probably about due.

Good Luck
