Are the Tigers slumping and are they really that good? They are combined 19-23 against the Yanks, ChiSox, Twins, and Red Sox this season, and half of those wins have come against the Twins (10). And, the lead has dwindled to just 5 games.
Is it time for Tiger fans to start getting worried?
What do you think?

Georgie Porgie - yes, in fact i did see him. Their iddle relievers are VERY talented and will go a long way with Miller and Zumaya there.

As a White Sox fan, I see a lot of similarities between last year's World Champs, and the 2006 Tigers. The Sox went thru a bad patch around this time last year, and the Indians crept a little too close for comfort.
The Tigers have great (although young) pitching, a couple of veteren leaders, and a playoff seasoned manager. Barring a total collapse, they're going to win the Central.
However, given their record against potential playoff opponents, don't start saving money for World Series tickets just yet!

The Tigers are young. This isn't going to be their year. They're a little too green and they falter when they play the bigtime teams.
It also goes to show what a weak division the AL Central actually is... when a team can build this kind of record by beating up on Kansas City and Cleveland for such a large chunk of their wins.
The Twins and White Sox really aren't as good as those records either. Sorry to say.

Yes, they are in a slump. All good teams go through that in a 162 game season.
But I am not worried.
I still have faith they will make the playoffs (1st place or wild card).
Especially now that we have Andrew Miller.
Did you see him pitch the 8th inning?
a hard throwing (his fast ball was clocked at 98, his slider at 89) 6 foot 6 inch left handed pitcher.
Even better, he's on the 25 man roster now which means he'll be elible for the playoffs.

No, I dont think there is a need to worry, for us Tiger Fans! If you stand behind your team and are not a "fair weather fan" you have the confidence that they will pull thru regardless of who they play.
All teams have their "slumps", I mean look at Boston, in their last 13 games they are 2-11!!

I'm sorry what was that, dwindle just 5 games right, that shows that all these big payroll teams don't mean as much. It's all good, the tigers will definitely be going into the playoffs.

I never saw that stat...that's interesting.
It seems to make sense though, since they've won because of the smart baseball played by Jim Leyland's teams. It works against the weak, but there's no substitute for experience, which is one thing that those other teams all have. It will be interesting to see what happens in the post-season.

Yankees just spanked the Kittens 2-0. I guess when the Tigers play real teams they play small.
