can I record to CD on DVD recorder from t.v.?

Question

I want to record music of cable nut want to put directly onto cd? Can it be done if so what would be the better recorder to purchase?

If you want to record video to CD you should look for SVCD format. This is what I used when I recorded video on to a cd instead of DVD. I would look at the box and see if it records to SVCD format.
