Computer 1:

Go to Control Panel, Network Connections. Right-click on Local Area Network. Inside the General Tab, double-click on Internet Protocol.

Set the IP address as follow: 192.168.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: leave blank

Right-click on My Computer, go to Properties. Under Computer Name tab, make sure the workgroup name is HOME or whatever you want it to be. It must be the same on both computers.

Computer 2:

Go to Control Panel, Network Connections. Right-click on Local Area Network. Inside the General Tab, double-click on Internet Protocol.

Set the IP address as follow: 192.168.0.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

Right-click on My Computer, go to Properties. Under Computer Name tab, make sure the workgroup name is HOME or whatever you want it to be. It must be the same on both computers.

Now make sure both computers are booted up, the cable is connected to both, and you will be able to "see" one another through My Network Places. Make sure you have a folder shared on both computers, otherwise you won't be able to access anything. Give the shares Everybody permissions.

Make sure the Windows firewall is off on both PC's.

This can be done. All you have to do is this:

1. Right-click the "Wireless Network Connection" icon in the Network Connections window on your laptop.

2. Then select Properties.

3. Click the advanced tab.

4. Select the first check box under "Internet Connection Sharing."

5 De-Select the second one if it is checked.

6. In the "Home Network Connection" drop down menu select "Wireless Network Connection."

That should do it, let me know how it goes.

Good answer Chuck! You will find the network connection wizard on the menu to the left when you click on the Networking link in Control Panel.
