Academics is my main concern

I know its not the top school or anything, but is it a decent school, and a little competitive to get into?

also..how would it compare to UCONN in academics?

US News & World Reports and the Princeton Review are both excellent web sites for looking up this kind of thing. See the links below.

The following is not universally true -- but is a good rule of thumb.

In general, the "University of XXXX" is a better school than "XXXX State University."

When you add a direction -- like "Central" or "Northern" -- as in Northern XXX State University then you go down a step.

And if you see dual-directional universities like "SouthEastern XXXX State University" -- run.

i live not to far from central,its actually a really ggod school and its laid back,in your free time youll be at a bar called ELMERS great place to get tanked,plus UCONN is in the woods so getting to anything fun takes an hour,central is surrounded by cities to have fun in,email me ill tell ya where the fun is at
