You answered your own question. If the chances are 1 in 200, then the likelihood is 1 in 200. That also means the chances are 199 in 200 that the baby will not have Down's. You could also convert it to a percentage: 0.5% chance of Down's, 99.5% chances of no Down's.

well that means that the chances are 1 in 200.... 2 in 400.... 3 in 600... 4 in 800... and 5 in a 1000.
not likely.
in other words for every 1000 births, 5 of those children will have down's syndrome.

Chances are better than winning the lottery.
1 out of 200 - did I speak slow enough? Downs is not the only mentally challenging issue to be concerned with I'm thinking.

duh 1/200, but actually its only 1/200 if you are over the age of 37, if you are under the age of 37 its 1 in 1500. But did you know that the chances of having a miscarriage is 1 in 5 (regardless of your age) and the chances of being abused by your spouse in 1 in 3 (regardless of ethnicity, social class or age) But enough about generalized statistics, if you are pregnant enjoy it and stop worrying

Don't worry about it. My friend had an amneo. They told her, her baby would have Downs. She worried the whole time she carried him and then he came out just fine.
My doctor even recommended for me not to have an amneo because he said stuff like that happens all the time.

Downs is more likely as the age of the male (father) increases.
I am pro-abortion. I would prefer to remain childless.

One half of one percent. The chances are pretty slim, but they are still there.
