Absolutely!! Its been a planet for so long, why change it? "If it aint broke, dont fix it." Astronomers or whoever is behind this massive waste of time should use this as a learning experience. Next time make sure its a planet before you call it a planet. After all what is in a name? The word planet was made up by humans so we can communicate with each other about it. Im sure that pluto does not care and will continue being what it is regardless of what we call it.

Can we have all the asteroids be planets too? Just think about it, that would be so cool, to have thousands of little planets in the solar system. Oh and add Chiron and Zena to the planet list too, and what the hell, let's extend our solar system out just a bit and incorporate the entire universe, just to make it all one big happy solar system.

If we keep making stupid suggestions, according to the law of statistics, scientists will eventually HAVE to listen to one of them! Go stupid ideas!

Yes... this was sarcasm.

I have to admit that going from beleiving there were 9 for 30 some odd years to all of a sudden only 8 is difficult, just us answering a silly question on yahoo isn't going to get all those big wigs to give it back...however since it's my home planet, it's nice to have it to myself.......lol

I bet a lot of people were horrified when the Earth was stated to be round. Hey - they even killed people for believing that didn't they?

What hope for progress if people keep trying to keep old standards and misunderstandings of reality?

Get with it. The change came from new discoveries and understandings in science and astronomy!

Professional astronomers don't really care what you and your friends think. Sorry.

I'm happier with 8 planets. It means I've tracked down all the planets in my telescope. Finding Pluto is a b****.

I'll sign your petition if it also says I'm a planet. I always wanted to be one. I know that makes 10, so why don't we ditch Mercury? (What did it ever do for us...)
