Why is it so hard to give some of your time to helping others? It seams like people are to involved in them selves to give some of there time and money to help others, are people really this seflfish now days? Is money all that most people care bout?

Why cant people help out and give of them selves to help some one out?

I try to give as much as I can. I'm short on money most of the time so I can't give monetary gifts but I do support my church financially. I volunteer in the nursery on the first Sunday of each month and I'm an assistant AWANA teacher every Wednesday night. I know that I should give more time and money, but I have stretched myself to the limits as it is.

I think most people are glad to help those who with a little help could turn their life around. However, I don't think people want to help those who just expect everyone to help them and don't bother to help themselves.
Also, people read all the time how others take advantage of those helping or have some kind of scam going. The dishonest have turned many away from giving.

When talking about giving it is not very wise to use a quote by Barbara Bush, Mother Teresa maybe but not a member of a family which rape and pillage other countries.I suggest you pick your role models better.

Unfortualy alot of people are like this now a days. We can only pray for the ones who need help and praise the ones who do!!!

Yeah, right, the Bush family could give a LOT but do you think they do? Absolutely not. Their nitwit son is in a position to help people now - is he? Absolutely not.

i want to help, but i can't decide how.
in the meantime, i'm a soldier - i don't have much time for other things, but i do work for my country for almost no pay (a bit less than a hundred dollars a month for a fulltime job). i hope to get involved in a queer group, or something to do with animals.

I have donated time and money.several times before but now constricted to where i am not able to do what i once did/but i still rebuild old trade in computers and fill them full of dos games for kids of the lesser fortuiante
