Next year? I think if he has a strong September, he's going to win it this year. He's definitely come from behind to force people to consider him. He got off to a pretty lousy April, and a decent (at best) May... but since then, he might be the best pitcher in baseball.

If he wins 19 this year, they've -got- to at least consider him for it. I figure he'll get 18 or 19. If he exceeds that and wins 20, he's got to be a near-lock for it.

First off, anyone who thinks he has a chance to win this year is a moron. Sorry to sound harsh, but if you think he'll win, then I'm guessing you know very little about baseball.

Wins are nice, and the voters like them, but they're not all-telling. At this point, there are several other pitchers with better numbers than Wang - ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts - including Santana, Halladay, Sabathia and Verlander. They may not end up with 20 wins, but both Halladay and Santana have far superior numbers than Wang in other categories, and both are much more likely to win.

This is just a stupid, stupid question. Wang has as much chance of winning a Cy Young award as he does of becoming President.

Roy Halladay has 16 wins, and a better winning percentage. Wang's biggest drawback is the lack of strikeouts. For some reason, the voters of the Cy Young take those kinds of things into consideration.

But with Johan Santana, Francisco Liriano, Doc Halladay around...it's going to be very tough.

Not next year or THIS year either. He may have the league lead in wins, but he is a small cog in the Yankees machine. He isn't paid like a star. Gotta go with a consistently great pitcher not a one year wonder.

The Yankees are the epitome of what is wrong with baseball. Giambi and his past, A-Rod failures, and an owner who did time in Prison (convicted felon). His first name means DOG just like the Yankees.

If he keep pitching the way he does immediately, by using the proper of the season, he will have a minimum of 20 wins. i am going to assert he will really have an excellent danger to win the Cy youthful this 365 days.

Wang's ERA is almost 4... Santana is only 1 win behind him and his ERA is barely over3 and he has 196 Ks... Wang is not in the Top 5 as far as I can tell....

What about Halliday. He has 16 wins. Wang does now, but Verlander and Santana have 15 wins apiece also.

I say Halliday wins it.

He has a good chance. He has an ERA around 3.60 now and if he is the only pitcher to get to 20 wins, why not. They gave it to Bartolo Colon last year, even though Santana's numbers were superior.

I think this is going to be his year none of a doubt this is his best performance yet so he might be a good selection for the prestigious CY Young Award. Then I could be wrong again because Roger Clemens has an era of 1.75
