Layouts can vary quite a bit. While most have the sleeping quarters on the upper level and the living room/kitchen on the lower level, some can have it the other way round and access is from the upper level. Some still have the living quarters on the upper floor with access on the lower floor. There are different reasons behind the layouts.

the lower one contains the hall, a living room , a kitchen and a bathroom.
the above floor contains the bedrooms and maybe a small living room ,bathroom.
