Oh, i don't know about third world debt. I know there is a billboard somewhere that calculates how much America is in debt due to the war in Iraq. I think maybe its in new york.

Actually the sign showed US government debt, and each family's share. It was knocked down a few months ago, to make room for a new skyscraper. It was on the corner of 6th and 42nd, so actually a block from times Square. You could see the last 2 digits, but they moved faster than the pennies on a premium gas pump

Years ago (in the 60s and 70s)there was a neon counter in or near Times Square that displayed U. S. government debt. I beleive that it was connected to an atomic clock.

Whether it stil shows this figure today or third world dept, I don't know.

What made you think it was third world debt? Or that it has anything to do with the war in Iraq?
America is trillions of dollars in debt and has no chane of ever repaying it. This goes back to the Reagan administration, when the dollar was devalued. Sheesh.
Google for the 'u.s. national debt clock', theres loads of info.

It's the US National Debt- not 3rd world debt.
There was a few years under the Clinton administration where it ran backwards.
