The news is very wrong. More than half of the fatalities were white too. Many people lost their homes of all races. The media however is getting way to much mileage out of the race card to report the truth.

This isn't one of those things where people ask a question hoping to get an answer. You're just busy being enamored with how witty you are. So I'll give you this.

By all accounts Katrina was a Hate Criminal with a special hate for the Gays in New Orleans. She specifically targetted the property of Black people while ignoring whites competely as she rained God's judgement on the -real- City of Sin.. While the great Black City of New Orleans was devestated the people of Texas and Missisippi recieved a cool summer breeze. No white people were harmed in the storm, everyone pulled from the mud was dark complected or at least ruddy if not green.

I agree. the only reason New Orleans gets all the attention is as a results of the fact it became an enhanced city, and that's what grabs the visitors. there have been such numerous cities that have been extra badly broken by ability of Katrina than NOLA. I grew up in California, and with the '89 earthquake, all human beings became passionate with regard to the media coverage of San Francisco-- even nonetheless there have been plenty extra communities affected. The media likes to coach destruction, and there is often extra interior the bigger cities. human beings track in to be certain that kind of element. i in my opinion think of they might desire to concentration extra on the story of individuals wanting help, extremely than the broken bridges or flooded streets.

How can people be so ignorant about HUMAN BEINGS who lost everything they had just because the majority of that area was of some other color other than white?
I keep seeing these moronic posts about how WAAA WAA WAAA, they shouldn't be complaining just because they lost their homes???
What on earth is wrong with you people? Since when did the color of your skin actually make you any less of a HUMAN BEING? The news didn't show just black people, but you all keep having a total cow over the fact that the population in that area just happens to be black. It wasn't just New Orleans hit obviously, it was just the most devastated area because of the flooding.
What if that was you wondering around with your children at a total loss because you had no choice but to let your wife/husband go and watch them drown because you simply couldn't hold on to them? Imagine having to live with that for the rest of your life. Or watching your children swept away.
Do you really think that has to do with the color of your skin?!?!

New Orleans has more than just african americans living there. There are people of every race living there. And yes these people also lost there homes. Mississippi was also affected by Katrina. The news and the internet will help tell you all the different areas that were affected by Katrina.

Good question!! Here is an even better one. What ever happened to the BILLIONS of dollars of money collected from all across the United States to help the victims of Katrina? With the amount of money collected there and through fund raising efforts of the stars, they could have rebuilt ten cities the size of N.O. Where did it all go????

Chow!!

What?!!! RoTFL are you SERIOUS??!!!
Not sure what news you are watching..but there are some people in Texas that would take issue with that...and some people in Mississippi that would take issue with that...and some white people in New Orleans that would take issue with that...

Where WERE you when that was going on?

My issue with this is why do you care if white or black people were affected by this?...how about?.........

People. PEOPLE in multiple states of all colors and ethnicity's lost their homes, lives, etc...
Who came to help them? Other PEOPLE from multiple states of all colors and ethnicity's.

NAME the network that SAID that only new orleans and only black people were affected and abandoned...let's check that out and see...or maybe you don't have your facts right after all...huh?

And yes I READ the question..and understand EXACTLY not only what you were asking...but really what you were SAYING....I am not an idiot..and neither are you...just lost in your ignorance.

New Orleans was the major area affected, but other areas of Louisiana were also hit, as well as neighboring states. People of all colors suffered, but the poorer, mostly minority community of parts New Orleans was hit the worst, as they had no help in getting out of the city, and then were given not only no help but bad information by the government to ride out the storm.

The whole coast was devestated, the media likes to play out the racist card to keep it going as long as they can...The Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian, and all other nationality people were just as devastated as the African Americans, they just don't moan and groan as much as the African Americans and the media can't catch them out on the streets being whinny about it because they are too busy trying to rebuild their homes and lives...You live on the coast people, acknowledge it, deal with the fact that you chose to live in a Hurricane prone area...Stop all the moaning and groaning.
